When we happened upon Quantum Leap Winery we couldn’t believe our luck. We had ambled over from Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa in Mills 50 (spotlight coming soon!) with a curiosity that needed quenching, metaphorically & physically, with great wine.
Owners Jill Ramsier, a former CMO for Ruth’s Hospitality Group, Inc, and David Forrester, who previously ran a successful recycling company, set out to create an urban winery with a conscientious business model that benefits both the planet and wine lovers. Situated in a former warehouse at 1312 Wilfred Drive Orlando, the Quantum Leap ethos is one of providing quality wines in an environmentally friendly way.
Our first impression was one of excitement, which then turned to delight at the tasting menu on offer, both red and white options. It truly is a gorgeously impressive space, with a large bar area and ample space to relax as you peruse the expansive wine list.
We chose to sit at the bar in view of a room housing a multitude of barrels and a large tasting table which is used for private functions – it really is a gorgeous space and would be perfect for a multitude of events.
Opting for the red wine tasting menu, we sat for an hour sipping and learning from the wonderfully knowledgeable staff about the wines we were enjoying. Since the first visit we have told several friends about Quantum Leap Winery and its wonderful set-up.
We highly recommended you head over and experience Florida’s only sustainable winery, it is a true gem of Orlando.
