There is something to be said for a simple, well constructed salad. When we spotted Greenbeat in Orlando’s business district, we were just about to close a long negotiated deal and required some sustenance. Situated at 486 N Orange Ave, just opposite the Orange County Courthouse, Greenbeat aka salad heaven, is a bright and modern lunch spot.

The genius of Greenbeat is in its simplicity, but the magic is in the garden fresh veggies and homemade dressings. Fostering relationships with local farms and suppliers, the ethos of Greenbeat is to offer good quality seasonal ingredients in an innovative way.

We made our way through the modern Scandi-Inspired space toward the salad bar, where the options are almost endless. The concept is simple, you can choose one of Greenbeat’s own salads (we highly recommend the Nostra Salmon) or you can create your own. A custom bowl allows you to choose 2 base options such as baby spinach or quinoa, a choice of 4 toppings and a freshly made dressing.

When we say the options are endless we truly mean it. Deciding to build our own custom bowls we both went for double base of spinach topped with cauliflower, avocado (perfectly ripe), roasted red peppers and cherry tomatoes. The basil lime dressing was dreamy and complimented the super fresh salad perfectly. If you wish to add a protein for an additional cost (I chose shrimp ceviche) you can do that also. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes, the bowls were big and we even ended up saving some for later.

Both of our custom bowls cost around $11 and we would absolutely recommend you stop by if you’re in the area and want to create your own salad masterpiece.
